Getting Started
ProdExam is the live-app usability testing platform — an in-app user research tool that studies how participants navigate your production web app. Unlike traditional CSAT surveys or feedback widgets, ProdExam runs structured research sessions in your live product, with multi-question scripts, pinned visual comments, and AI-generated analysis.
ProdExam lets product teams run usability research without yanking participants out of the product. The ProdExam SDK injects a side panel into your live app; once a test is published, every visitor opens that panel, enters their name, and walks through your scripted questions while pinning visual comments anywhere on the page.
You author the question script in the builder, configure each question's trigger (URL match, button click, scroll depth, etc.), publish, and watch sessions come in. AI surfaces sentiment, themes, and executive summaries across every response.
Projects represent your applications or websites. Each project has a unique API key used to connect the SDK.
A test is a structured usability research script. When a participant lands on your live app, the ProdExam side panel opens with a Welcome screen, asks them to enter their name, and walks them through the questions you defined. Pinned-comment zones stay available throughout the session.
Each time a user completes a test, it creates a session with their responses and any pinned comments.
AI analyzes responses to generate summaries, sentiment analysis, and theme extraction automatically.
Create a project and install the SDK
Add the ProdExam SDK to your application using your project's API key.
Build tests with the side panel builder
Add questions, configure their triggers (what action by the participant prompts each question), and set delays. The builder shows a live preview of the participant's side panel as you go.
Publish and start running sessions
Once a test is active, every visitor to your site sees the ProdExam side panel on page load. They enter their name, click Start Test, and questions fire as they navigate.
Analyze results with AI
View responses, sentiment analysis, themes, and AI-generated summaries in your dashboard.
Questions
Ask users questions at specific moments. Supports rating (1–5), NPS (0–10), free text, multiple choice, multi-select, yes/no, and pause steps that prompt without expecting a response.
Pinned Comments
Participants click anywhere on the page to attach a comment to a specific element. Screenshots capture the pin location automatically — perfect for visual usability findings.
