How to Create a Test

Create a usability test — a structured research script that runs inside your live app. Each test holds the questions you want participants to answer, their triggers, and any optional delays.

You can also do this with AI. Try it with Testflow MCP

Before you start

Make sure you have:

• A project with the SDK connected

• An idea of what user flow you want to test

Steps to create a test

  1. Go to your project in the Dashboard

  2. Click the "New Test" button

  3. Enter a test name (e.g., "Checkout Flow Feedback")

  4. Optionally, add a description to help you remember the test's purpose

  5. Click "Create Test"

What happens next

After creating your test:

Test is in Draft status

Your test starts as a draft. It won't be visible to users until you publish it.

Open the Builder

Click "Launch Builder" to add questions and configure their triggers in the side panel.

Configure your test

Define when the test should appear and what questions to ask users.

Tips for naming tests

• Be specific: "Checkout Flow Q3" is better than "Test 1"

• Include the feature: "Search Results Feedback"

• Add dates for A/B tests: "Homepage v2 - Jan 2024"

Do it with Testflow MCP

MCP

You can also create tests using ProdExam's MCP integration with AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor.
